When in the age-hardened condition, Monel K-500 Sheets offered by Prestige Metalloys LLC has a greater tendency toward stress-corrosion cracking in some environments than Monel 400 Sheets.

The strength of Monel 400 Plates is maintained to 1200 Degree F but stays ductile and tough down to temperatures of 400 Degree F, which can be further strengthened by cold working prior to precipitation hardening. The corrosion resistance of Monel K-500 Plates is substantially equivalent to that of Monel 400 Circle, except that when in the age-hardened condition, Alloy 400 has a greater tendency toward stress-corrosion cracking in some environments.
